ABOUT PAULIQUE

The Daughter of Billy Ray Barber (Billy Woods) and Paula Duson, the Granddaughter of Betsy Spruill, and the proud mother of Vernon L. Rhines Jr.; Paulique is an Author, Business Owner, and Community Activist who has set out to walk in purpose while being true to herself and being the child of God. She takes pride in her business, her family, and her community.

 

A graduate of the HBCU’s Elizabeth City State University with a Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Management, Paulique made it a mission to enrich her community, and people that are close to her, while staying steadfast in the quest of entrepreneurship and social justice. Paulique is currently active on six nonprofit boards; the Department of Social Services Board, Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center Board, Somerset Foundation Board, and Concerned Citizens 4 Hope to name a few as well as part of the Washington County Democratic Party.

 

Paulique owns four businesses with the fifth underway soon; Horton Financial Services, Uptown Stylez Unisex Hair Salon, Barnyard Besty’s Cheesesteak and Hoagies, Grateful Connections LLC, an at-home customer service company with independent agents; and launched Home Buying/Real Estate 101 course that will help you understand the process of home ownership and real estate.

With over 12 years of Financial Service Experience, Paulique took the leap of faith and started her own practice. After working as an agent and a broker, Paulique values the notion of working in the client’s best interest and providing financial service options that best fit the client’s need(s) and budget.


Paulique understands the needs of our community and works behind the scenes to help understand that financial independence is possible. One of her favorite sayings is, “Once you find your purpose you will never be broke.”
